Simone & Howards ‘The Painswick’ Wedding

My parents live in Painswick, so I’ve visited ‘The Painswick’ many times for a evening drink, a posh meal, or afternoon tea, and it never disappoints. Knowing that the decor is cool as hell and how beautiful the building is I was pretty excited to capture a wedding there, all that was needed was an awesome couple to complete the perfect recipe and Simone and Howard were it!

Simone was nervous and Howard was nervous with a big smile, but before they knew it they were both smiling in the sun saying ‘I do’. The outside ceremony was a beautiful set up and perfect for the guests to shower the newly weds with confetti as they walked back down the isle trying not to get any in their eyes or mouth – it’s more common than you’d think.

The garden terrace is an idyllic spot to catch up with excited guests in, I love taking a step back at this point and just letting the bride and groom enjoy themselves – though of course I’m happy to grab photos of family or friends with a smile when they ask!

In Simone & Howards case the weather was a little on and off so we nipped off for photos before it potentially clouded over. As always I left them to it to have a walk and chat as husband and wife, but occasionally got too excited and asked them to look my way for a smiley portrait.

If the suns out around sunset then I’m keen as bean to get photos, in this case Simone & Howard were as keen as me so we went for a stroll around the village. The afternoon’s a particularly nice time to get photos as the couple usually feel more relaxed and I can take a bit more time to capture moments naturally, I think these photos are a nice example of that.

And back in time for more drinks before the party!
